From NOTHING to SOMETHING
I often hear of successes and losses, but I rarely hear about that in-between phase in a new entrepreneur's life when you have... NOTHING.
That was me for the past four years.
"Can I check your website, social media...?"
"Well, currently there's... Nothing."
Arghh.... Nothing. I even had an uncle who told everyone that I had retired early.😭
But I was hard at work... Researching, failing, learning, trying, failing again. I just never realised that there would be such a leap to go from screenwriter to founder. Perhaps for the best.
Then a year ago, I made a big decision: I joined Juno House, a private business club for women in Barcelona.
I had seen my friend, Romina Hakim, go from struggling podcaster to flourishing entrepreneur after just one year of being a member of Juno House, so I took the leap; I invested.
And what I found at Juno House was access to some incredible women, who were not only incredibly smart and supportive, but also honest and humble enough to show me that yes, I could do this.
Starting with Juno House founders, Natalie Batlle and Liana Grieg, who welcomed me with open arms at my first Out of Juno experience. There was something truly exciting for me about their journey from arriving in Barcelona from the US without connections to creating Juno House within a couple of years.
Their story made my dream tangible, and their experience became my compass.
They probably don't even know this, but whenever I'd meet them or attend one of their events, I would listen intentently, avidly absorbing every bit of wisdom they would generously pass on.
But it wasn't just Natalie and Liana; it was all the wonderful women I met at Juno House. From my unbelievale coach, Anne-Laure Léonard who helped me channel all my creative ideas into a tangible, marketable project to the many friends I made along the way, Carinne Abou-Huguet, karine Fort, Anne Cécile Billard, Béatrice Oggier, Silvia Civit, Iris Santamaria Motis, Anna Vicen Renner, Vanessa Alves-Ruiz, Andrea Draper and many others.
And there's the Juno House team; they're all incredibly hard-working, supportive, and generous to a fault. Thank you so much, Marta Cidfuentes, Caroline Marcassa, Carmen Cadaval, Natalia Palacios Lanestosa
They chose to include my newly published book, Reboot Your Story, and celebrated me along other Juno House's authors on Sant Jordi.
Oh yes, so now I do have SOMETHING. I have a book, a website and more!
Sadly, my uncle still believes that my project is a nice "hobby", but for everyone else...
