Women Owning Their Story - Together
“I’m quoted in Forbes!”
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I received the email sent by Forbes journalist and VP of content at Consciously Unbiased, Holly Corbett.
Holly Corbett had already generously invited me to the Consciously Unbiased talk “The Power of Women Owning Their Story.” When I saw the caliber of women there, I was in awe.
Then, when I heard my fellow panellists express how surprised they were to be invited, I thought: “Wait… I thought I was the odd one out.”
The image of that famous meme of the two Spider-Men pointing at each other sprang to mind.
Joking aside, what struck me most was how we chose to move from ‘Do I deserve to be here?’ to ‘What can I contribute that only I can?’—and to simply end with: ‘How can I be of service?’”
Owning your story requires you to act in real time. Opportunities come, but the energy of momentum requires swift action.
And you need community.
Because the talk wouldn’t have happened without Holly Corbett presenting me the opportunity, then it required for her to decide to write an article on it - one that was turbocharged with insights from the incredible women who accompanied me.
A perfect story of women owning their story - together
Check out what I, and the awe-inspiring women, had to say about owning our stories in the Forbes Article below:
